David Zammit is a solicitor of over 30 years' experience in many areas of the law, such as Commercial Leasing, Retail Leases, and Civil Litigation in the Local, District and Supreme Court jurisdictions, and Conveyancing.
Whilst we want to help the small businessperson as one of our primary goals, this is truly a general practice and we have the skill and experience to assist you with a great range of legal needs, or if we can't, then we can point you in the right direction.
David has over the years conducted Criminal Matters in the Local Court jurisdiction as an advocate, and instructing counsel in the District and Supreme Court. These vary from drink driving pleas of guilty with an explanation, to defended matters, and applications under the Mental Health Act.
He has also had conduct of tribunal oriented proceedings, including proceedings in the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Victims Compensation Tribunal, and the NSW Civil and Administration Tribunal (NCAT).
David has had extensive experience in the field of Retail and other Commercial Leasing. In the past he has acted for well-known shopping centres, writing and issuing leases and conducting lease related litigation. In this regard, he has worked closely with Centre Management in providing an affordable and speedy service in issuing commercial leases, usually within 24 hours of receiving instructions. Prior to this he had acted for a large portfolio of commercial leasing clients (both lessees and lessors) in Sydney CBD. When the Retail Leases Act was first enacted, he was one of the first solicitors in Sydney to have redrawn his firm's standard Lease to comply with the provisions of the new Act.
David has also acted as a consultant with local and city firms regarding Commercial Lease matters.
However his expertise is not limited to commercial leasing or other commercial matters. He can assist you in many different fields, such as:
